Football Game Preview: Austin Panthers vs. Randall Raiders

The Austin Panthers will challenge the Randall Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Austin humbled San Elizario with a 48-7 victory. Considering the Panthers have won seven games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Joel Castaneda was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 102 yards and one TD. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Austin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 587 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Randall earned a 14-7 win over Canyon on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Austin better keep an eye on Kaison Benton. He was instrumental in Randall's win, rushing for 89 yards on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 34 yards and one touchdown. Those 89 rushing yards gave Benton a new career-high.

Austin's record is now 7-3. As for Randall, their record now sits at 8-2.
