Volleyball Recap: Statesville Victorious

The Statesville Greyhounds narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Langtree Charter Academy Lions 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Greyhounds.

Statesville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-27, 25-15, 25-19, 15-13.

Statesville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Statesville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they will take on Bradford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
