Softball Recap: Lewisburg Wins Going Away Against Southaven

Lewisburg won the last time they faced Southaven and things went their way on Monday too. Lewisburg was the clear victor by a 12-5 margin over Southaven. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Leona-Klaire Stokes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two home runs, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Payton Moss was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Lewisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lewisburg's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Southaven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewisburg will welcome DeSoto Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. DeSoto Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Southaven, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Horn Lake at 6:30 p.m. Horn Lake has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.86 runs per game on average), something Southaven will no doubt try to take advantage of.
