Softball Recap: Cypress Creek Gets the Win

Cypress Creek hadn't done well against River Ridge recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Coyotes walked away with a 9-6 win over the Royal Knights. This was payback for the Coyotes, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Emily Bowling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Lily Briscoe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since March 2nd. Taylor Fuglesang also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cypress Creek now has a winning record of 8-7. As for River Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Cypress Creek and River Ridge will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Coyotes see the field they'll take on Gulf at 7:00 p.m. on April 7. As for River Ridge, their break will end when they face Osceola at 6:00 p.m. on April 7.
