Softball Recap: Pyramid Lake Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Pyramid Lake won the last time they faced Carlin and things went their way on Friday too. Pyramid Lake put the hurt on Carlin with a sharp 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Farrah Mauwee, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorena Eben, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Pyramid Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carlin only posted a batting average of .226.

Pyramid Lake pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Carlin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Pyramid Lake will head out on the road to face off against Pershing County at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Pershing County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.23 runs per game on average), something Pyramid Lake will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carlin, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eureka at 2:00 p.m. on April 8.
