Baseball Recap: Southwestern Heights Takes a Loss

After flying high against Elkhart on Monday, Southwestern Heights came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell 12-8 to the Wildcats on Monday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 10-3.

Parker Leak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Southwestern Heights is 6-3 when Leak posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Sigala, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Southwestern Heights' loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Elkhart, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern Heights will welcome Spearville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elkhart, they will host Satanta at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
