Baseball Recap: Yuma Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

The home team had come away the winner the last eight times Yuma and Haxtun had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Outlaws walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Fightin' Bulldogs on Tuesday. While the Outlaws didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lennox Huwa was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Yuma: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Christian Thomson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Yuma's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for Haxtun, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Fightin' Bulldogs beat Yuma by a score of 8-6 later that day.
