George Washington can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Northfield Nighthawks as the George Washington Patriots made off with a 16-4 win. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.
Amelia Nelson was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Nelson was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, George Washington let Gracie Arellano and Samantha Coffman loose on the outfield. Arellano scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Coffman scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Duffy, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
George Washington's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Northfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
