Baseball Recap: Cheney Gets the Win

Cheney won the last time they faced Ferris and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Blackhawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Saxons 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blackhawks.

Coleman Randles made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Randles was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brayden Martin and Jacob Ulrich did most of the damage at the plate: Martin scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Ulrich scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Martin a new career-high. Dawes Hanson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Cheney's record is now 4-2. As for Ferris, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
