Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell Kernels vs. Washington Warriors

Mitchell hasn't had much luck against Washington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mitchell Kernels will venture away from home to face off against the Washington Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Mitchell will be strutting in after a win while Washington will be coming in after a defeat.

Mitchell will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Aberdeen Central, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Mitchell came out on top against Aberdeen Central by a score of 42-33 on Tuesday.

Washington has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against O'Gorman on Friday, falling 87-60.

Mitchell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.

Things could have been worse for Mitchell, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-34 loss to Washington in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Mitchell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
