Football Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

After soaring to 43 points the game before, Taft was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost to the Santa Rosa Warriors on the road by a 21-7 margin. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Taft's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Santa Rosa, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Taft is set to challenge their familiar foe Hebbronville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Santa Rosa will take on rival George West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 8.9, the Longhorns 12.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
