Softball Recap: Northside Vikings vs. Staunton River Golden Eagles

Northside had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-17 to make it six. They lost 18-2 to the Staunton River Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in April.

As for Staunton River, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Staunton River's part, they got a massive performance out of Jordyn Booher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Booher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexis Coles, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Northside is set to take on their familiar foe Lord Botetourt at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Staunton River will face off against rival William Byrd at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
