Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Villa Madonna). They skirted past the Ludlow Panthers 71-69. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since January 2nd.

Villa Madonna was led to victory by Michael J Popham and Quinn Thomas. Popham to rack up 17 points and eight rebounds, while Thomas almost dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 11 boards, and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Jay Meyers, who posted eight points along with ten boards and five blocks.

Villa Madonna's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-24. As for Ludlow, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-14.

Coming up, Villa Madonna will challenge Lloyd Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lloyd Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. Ludlow does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
