Softball Recap: Blanchester Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Blanchester's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Clermont Northeastern Rockets on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Blanchester's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 13-6. As for Clermont Northeastern, they moved to 6-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blanchester will head out to take on Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will venture away from home to square off against Williamsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
