Basketball Recap: Kaden Cutlip Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Volunteer

Unicoi County won the last time they faced Volunteer and things went their way on Monday too. The Unicoi County Blue Devils walked away with a 57-49 win over the Volunteer Falcons. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Falcons are ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unicoi County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Cutlip, who posted 15 points and six rebounds. Cutlip is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Garrett Sellars, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Unicoi County and bumps their season record up to 15-10. As for Volunteer, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-15.

Unicoi County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-60 win against Elizabethton on the 4th. Volunteer has also already played their next game (against Jefferson County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
