Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Williams Bishops vs. St. John Paul II Lions

The Archbishop Williams Bishops will face off against the St. John Paul II Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop Williams will be strutting in after a victory while St. John Paul II will be coming in after a loss.

Archbishop Williams' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Tewksbury Memorial.

Meanwhile, St. John Paul II fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bridgewater-Raynham on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 5-4. That makes it the first time this season the Lions have let down their home crowd.

Tyler Ross was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Logan Our made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Xavien Suero was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Archbishop Williams' win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for St. John Paul II, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-2.
