Softball Recap: Canyon Ridge Comes Up Short

Canyon Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Minico on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 10-9. The Riverhawks' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row.

Harleigh Slagle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Audrey Wood was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Canyon Ridge's record is now 1-14. As for Minico, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-16.

While Canyon Ridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
