Volleyball Recap: Romario Ortega's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Greenfield over Whitnall

Greenfield lost against Whitnall back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hustlin' Hawks fell 3-1 to the Falcons.

The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Greenfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Romario Ortega, who had 29 assists and 16 digs. He has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last five times he's played.

Greenfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Whitnall, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Greenfield will head out to square off against Waukesha South at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Whitnall, after both having extra time off, they and Shorewood will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
