Basketball Recap: The Burlington School Skates Past Burlington Christian Academy with Ease

The Burlington School won the last time they faced Burlington Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Burlington School Spartans really took it to the Burlington Christian Academy Royals for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-24 victory. With the Spartans ahead 29-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Leading The Burlington School to victory were Kennedy Harrelson and Alaiyah Mitchell. Harrelson dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards, while Mitchell posted 15 points along with eight boards and four steals. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Lawryn Harris was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven steals.

The win made it two in a row for The Burlington School and bumps their season record up to 3-3. As for Burlington Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

The Burlington School will square off against Albemarle at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Albemarle's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so The Burlington School's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Burlington Christian Academy, they will welcome Salem Baptist Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Burlington Christian Academy is facing Salem Baptist Christian at the right time seeing as Salem Baptist Christian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
