It was a proper cat-fight when Breese Central duked it out with Salem on Thursday. The Cougars walked away with  a   2-0  win over the Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  2-0  back in September.
 Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Breese Central took both sets by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13,  25-13.
 Madelyn Luebbers paced Breese Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Luebbers got some help from  Austyn Benhoff and her 22 assists. Benhoff also made an impact serving:  she shared the team lead in aces with  Lexy Santel, each putting up two.
Breese Central's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Salem,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at three matches  and leaves them with a 14-7 record.
 Breese Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  2-0  win against Gateway Legacy Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Salem, they will challenge Centralia at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Orphans will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
