Basketball Recap: Pope County Falls Despite Big Games from Lawson Forthman and Bella Fasolo

Pope County lost against Gallatin County two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pope County Pirates took a 38-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gallatin County Hawks. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pope County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bella Fasolo, who went 7 for 17 en route to 21 points, and Lawson Forthman, who posted four points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 80.8% of Pope County's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Pope County's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Gallatin County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.
