Basketball Recap: Legacy Triumphs

Legacy won the last time they faced Fairview, and Olivia Mortensen did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Legacy Lightning's way against the Fairview Knights on Friday as the Legacy Lightning made off with a 43-19 win thanks in part to Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. The game was her 21st in a row with at least ten points.

Julia Savage and Chloe Hickory certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Savage posted three points and seven rebounds, while Hickory earned seven points. Hickory has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

The victory got Legacy back to even at 5-5. As for Fairview, they moved to 6-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Legacy will challenge Skyline at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Legacy is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fairview, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-16 win against Wheat Ridge on the 11th.
