Keystone has gone 9-1 against Firelands recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Keystone is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.
On Tuesday, Keystone needed a bit of extra time to put away Black River. They had just enough and edged out the Pirates 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 30, 2024.

Keystone got a massive performance out of Jordan Owca, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Owca is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Bristol Foster was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Keystone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Firelands got the win against Oberlin on Tuesday by a conclusive 20-3. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Jeanette Crawford made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrynn Reichle, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Beal, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Keystone's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Firelands, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Keystone hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Firelands struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Keystone took their win against Firelands in their previous meeting on April 9th by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
