Baseball Recap: Huntington Comes Up Short

Huntington fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Zane Trace on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 2-1. That makes it the first time this season the Huntsmen have let down their home crowd.

Andrew Oyer spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Huntington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Elliott, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-2. As for Zane Trace, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Huntington will take on Eastern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Zane Trace, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
