Basketball Recap: Hopi Takes a Loss

Hopi easily dispatched Greyhills Academy last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Hopi Bruins fell just short of the Many Farms Lobos by a score of 39-37 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Lobos: they've now lost six in a row.

Jillian Begay was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds for Many Farms. Those 19 boards gave Begay a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lavonna Ben, who posted nine points.

Hopi's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Many Farms, their record now sits at 17-8.

Hopi is taking a road trip to face off against Ganado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Many Farms has already played their next game (against Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
