Volleyball Recap: Samuel Almendarez and Robert Almendarez Secure Win for Eastlake

Eastlake barely beat Del Norte the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Eastlake put the hurt on Del Norte with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Titans yet this season.

While Eastlake might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Del Norte scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 27-25, 25-19.

Leading Eastlake to victory were Robert Almendarez and Samuel Almendarez. Robert had 17 assists and five digs, while Samuel had 12 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Samuel has posted over his last nine games.

Eastlake's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Del Norte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Eastlake will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Canyon Crest Academy at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th. Canyon Crest Academy will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Eastlake surely won't give up without a fight. As for Del Norte, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Torrey Pines on the 20th.
