Basketball Recap: Kit Carson Falls to Walsh in First Game of Season

Kit Carson had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Walsh Eagles by a score of 26-23 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since February 8th.

Kit Carson's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was O'Shea Farmer, who posted four points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Levi Mayhan, who had 12 points and seven boards.

Walsh got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Foster out in front who put up six points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Mundell, who scored five points and seven boards.

Walsh has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Kit Carson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-39 loss against Weldon Valley on the 11th. As for Walsh, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 44-42 victory against Yarbrough/Felt on the 8th.
