Rockridge took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Knoxville Blue Bullets 2-1. The Rockets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Bullets, too.

Rockridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Knoxville still got an impressive performance from Aubrey Johnston, who had 14 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Natalie Harshbarger, who had 11 digs and three assists.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockridge is headed away from home for the first time to take on East Moline United at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Knoxville, they will face off against Monmouth-Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
