Williamsport has gone a perfect 10-0 against Middletown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wildcats will host the Knights at 6:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Williamsport is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: James Wood, who was ranked second in their home state at the time (Williamsport was ranked seventh). The Wildcats came up short against the Colonels on Thursday, falling 3-0. The loss put an end to the Wildcats' undefeated start to the season.

While Williamsport was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-23.

Williamsport's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cali McClung, who had 12 assists and five digs.

Meanwhile, Middletown lost 3-0 to Boonsboro on Thursday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-16.

Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Williamsport, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Williamsport took their victory against Middletown in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
