Basketball Recap: Tristen Corbin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bluegrass United over LKY

Bluegrass United was the 62-60 winner over LKY when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluegrass United Bluehawks fell to the LKY Saints 55-49. The Bluehawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bluegrass United lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tristen Corbin, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Corbin a new career-high in steals (four). Elliot Higginbotham was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 boards.

Ezekiel Taylor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for LKY, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jentzen Hayes, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine assists.

Bluegrass United's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for LKY, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluegrass United has already played their next match (against Bath County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. LKY will venture away from home to take on Fairdale at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairdale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully LKY likes a good challenge.
