Recap: Corpus Christi Moody Trojans vs. Ray Texans
If The Corpus Christi Moody Trojans were feeling good off their 39-19 takedown of the King Mustangs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Corpus Christi Moody fell to Ray 26-21. Corpus Christi Moody lost against Ray in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 20-7 score last time.
Corpus Christi Moody's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Adrian Luna Jr. and Kayden Dufour. Luna Jr. rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, while Dufour rushed for 142 yards on only 11 carries. Dufour was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Cantu, who threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Ray also got help from Bodie Lesly who showed off his sure hands for 120 receiving yards.
Corpus Christi Moody's defeat was their fourth straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.8 points per game. As for Ray, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Corpus Christi Moody does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ray also has no future games currently scheduled.
