Basketball Recap: North Iredell Triumphs

North Iredell posted their closest win since January 5, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 victory over the Foard Tigers. The Raiders didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Despite the loss, Foard had strong showings from Malachi Mcknight, who went 8 of 18 en route to 21 points, and Holden Caldwell, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Marra, who scored seven points and five rebounds.

North Iredell's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Foard, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Iredell will square off against St. Stephens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stephens is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for Foard, they will take on West Iredell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in West Iredell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
