Basketball Recap: Fairmont Heights Comes Up Short

Fairmont Heights lost against Largo back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fairmont Heights Hornets were outmatched by the Largo Lions and fell 62-15. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Angela Green was Fairmont Heights' leading scorer, having posted eight points. Leila Priester held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Largo found their leader in sophomore Aysiah Harris, who went 10 for 16 en route to 30 points. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for Harris. Aleah Rodriguez was another key player, putting up 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Fairmont Heights and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Largo, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fairmont Heights wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-24 victory against Central on the 27th. As for Largo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-12 win against Bladensburg on the 24th.
