Recap: Banner County Wildcats vs. South Platte Blue Knights

The Banner County Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 73-52 loss at the hands of South Platte. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Banner County in their matchups with South Platte: they've now lost six in a row.

Banner County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brendyn Onstott, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Onstott has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Parsons, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists.

Banner County struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South Platte posted 12 assists.

Leading South Platte to victory were Cavin Lanman and Dashle Richards. Lanman scored 17 points, while Richards scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lanman has scored all season. Conner Evans was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.

Banner County's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for South Platte, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9.

Banner County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Platte, they will head out on the road to square off against Bayard at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully South Platte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
