Soccer Game Preview: Shelby County vs. Montevallo

Shelby County is 0-7 against Montevallo since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Wildcats will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Shelby County has given up an average of 5.1 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Shelby County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals back in March, they were much more limited against Indian Springs last Tuesday. They came up short against the Student, falling 10-0. Meanwhile, Montevallo waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rams a 2-0 shutout. Montevallo's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Montevallo pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Shelby County, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
