Volleyball Recap: Eagle Falls Despite Big Games from Emme Higley and Ellie Mcmanigal + How To Watch

Eagle had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 16-12 to make it four. They fell just short of the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Eagle's loss came despite strong showings from Ellie McManigal and Emme Higley. McManigal had 20 digs and two assists, while Higley had nine digs. McManigal has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

As for Rocky Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 29th.

Rocky Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Sangsland led the charge by getting 22 assists and ten digs. That's the most digs Sangsland has posted over her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Tanner, who had 15 digs and two aces.

Eagle has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Boise on the 14th. As for Rocky Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Mountain View on the 14th.
