Softball Recap: New Iberia Yellowjackets vs. Highland Baptist Christian Bears

In what's become a running theme this season, New Iberia gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Highland Baptist Christian Bears as the New Iberia Yellowjackets made off with a 12-1 victory. The win was just what New Iberia needed coming off of a 10-0 defeat in their prior matchup.

Janie Sewell was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Madison Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a stolen base.

New Iberia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Highland Baptist Christian, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

New Iberia will head out on the road to take on Loreauville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Loreauville will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something New Iberia surely won't give up without a fight. As for Highland Baptist Christian, they will be playing at home against Covenant Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Covenant Christian Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Highland Baptist Christian likes a good challenge.
