Basketball Recap: Tekamah-Herman Tigers vs. North Bend Central Tigers
Tekamah-Herman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the North Bend Central Tigers, falling 82-38. While losing is never fun, Tekamah-Herman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while North Bend Central is ranked 96th).
Brody Rogers and Grady Belfrage certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Rogers posted 13 points, while Belfrage scored seven points. Tekamah-Herman's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for North Bend Central, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-9.
Looking ahead, Tekamah-Herman will head out to face off against Fort Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Calhoun has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for North Bend Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in North Bend Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
