Volleyball Recap: Monroe Central's Win Ends 13-Game Losing Streak at Home + How To Watch

Monroe Central took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Elwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Monroe Central was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (102-94), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-18, 15-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Monroe Central was led to victory by Sophia Bolton and Hadley Hendrickson. Bolton had 14 digs and nine assists, while Hendrickson had eight kills, seven aces, and five digs. Hendrickson is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Monroe Central's victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Elwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
