Recap: York Cougars vs. Piedmont Panthers
On Wednesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but York had to settle for a 45-42 defeat against Piedmont.
Despite the loss, York still got an impressive performance from Cooper Green, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Amerianna Ingram was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Piedmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Polk, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Polk is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tara Deese, who scored ten points along with four steals.
York now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Piedmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
York will be playing at home against South Point at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday. Piedmont and Monroe will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
