There's no place like home for Monterey, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past the Watertown Purple Tigers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since March 8th.
Alexandrea Novak was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
