Basketball Recap: West Ashley Find Success

Fort Dorchester came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against West Ashley, but Destiny Ladson wouldn't allow it. The West Ashley Wildcats walked away with a 53-42 victory over the Fort Dorchester Patriots on Tuesday thanks in part to Ladson, who went 12 of 24 on her way to 28 points and seven steals. Those 28 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Crowe, who posted three points along with nine rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played.

Despite the loss, Fort Dorchester still got an impressive performance from Cailyn Webber, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 blocks. Webber continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylee Clarke, who put up six points in addition to five assists and four steals.

West Ashley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Fort Dorchester, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Ashley has already played their next match (against Stall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fort Dorchester has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against James Island.
