Basketball Game Preview: Space Coast Vipers vs. Edgewood Red Wolves + How To Watch

The Space Coast Vipers will challenge the Edgewood Red Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgewood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Space Coast, who comes in off a win.

Space Coast had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 39-point drubbing they dealt Cocoa on Thursday. The Vipers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 53-14. The Vipers pushed the score to 39-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had little chance of recovering from.

Space Coast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Phillayjah Carroll led the charge by shooting 41% from the field to rack up 20 points and eight steals. What's more, Carroll also posted a 20% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Ana Muniz, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Edgewood and Merritt Island Christian, and Merritt Island Christian kept the tradition alive. The Red Wolves took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars on Tuesday.

Space Coast will need to focus on slowing down Audra Prill, one of several Edgewood players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Prill now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. Chloe Morrison also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Edgewood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Space Coast, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Space Coast strolled past Edgewood in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 53-37. Will the Vipers repeat their success, or do the Red Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
