Basketball Recap: Mountain Crest Comes Up Short

Mountain Crest lost against Ridgeline back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mountain Crest Mustangs were beaten by the Ridgeline Riverhawks 74-29. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.

Mountain Crest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sage Walker, who posted seven points, and Mariana Webb-Barragan, who earned seven points. Those seven points gave Webb-Barragan a new career-high.

It was another big night for Emilee Skinner, who almost dropped a double-double on 41 points and nine rebounds for Ridgeline. Skinner has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 45 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaydi Jenks, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 16 points along with five assists and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain Crest and nudges their season record down to 14-9. As for Ridgeline, the win keeps them at an undefeated 24-0.

As of now, neither Mountain Crest nor Ridgeline have any future games scheduled.
