Baseball Game Preview: Bonita Bearcats vs. Walnut Mustangs

For the second straight game, Bonita will face off against Walnut. The Bearcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Walnut hit Bonita with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bearcats came up short against the Mustangs, falling 9-1. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bonita got a good showing from Ryder Gibson, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gibson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances.

Walnut has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bonita, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12-1.
