Basketball Recap: McCormick Triumphs

On Tuesday, the McCormick Chiefs had just enough and edged the GREEN Upstate Owls out 58-56.

Terrence Cartledge was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 15 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. Markese Stevens also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

McCormick's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for GREEN Upstate, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

McCormick will challenge Whitmire at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McCormick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. As for GREEN Upstate, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Abbeville at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Abbeville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
