Recap: Liberty Blue Jays vs. Notre Dame de Sion Storm
The Liberty Blue Jays kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Notre Dame de Sion by a score of 42-40.
Notre Dame de Sion can attribute much of their success to Abby Wendte, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Wendte has scored at least 25% of Notre Dame de Sion's points. Another player making a difference was Sydney Blaine, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Notre Dame de Sion, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Liberty will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Park Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Notre Dame de Sion, they will take on Topeka at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
