Basketball Recap: Donahue Catholic Shamrocks vs. The Village School of Naples Knights
The Donahue Catholic Shamrocks waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down The Village School of Naples 81-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Donahue Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Erling Berg, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Berg is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. John McCabe was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds.
Donahue Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for The Village School of Naples, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
Donahue Catholic will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. Seacrest Country Day has now lost 19 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for The Village School of Naples, they will head out on the road to take on the Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
