Volleyball Preview: Waynesville Tigers vs. Central Bulldogs

Waynesville and Central are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Waynesville Tigers will stay at home for another game and welcome the Central Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waynesville will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each match than the last.

Last Thursday, Waynesville was able to grind out a solid win over Glendale, taking the game 3-1.

Waynesville walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-13, 25-21.

Waynesville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Springfield Catholic by a score of 2-1. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Fighting Irish 27-25 in the first set.

Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-20, 25-17.

Waynesville's win bumped their record up to 7-14-3. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-19-1.
