Softball Game Preview: Fremont Eagles vs. Hamilton Marines

Fremont has gone a perfect 4-0 against Hamilton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will challenge the Marines at 6:00 p.m. Hamilton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fremont, who comes in off a win.

Fremont hadn't beaten Prairie Heights on the road since May 16, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 14-9 win over the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Drew Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Verdin, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prairie Heights only managed nine hits.

Meanwhile, Hamilton fell victim to Elkhart Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. The Marines haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Fremont's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Everything went Fremont's way against Hamilton in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Fremont made off with a 16-0 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
